MEDITATION BASICS

Meditation can be one of your most valuable tools,It can be used to help those affected by anger,fustration,resentment and interpersonal conflict.

It can also help improve memory,reduce fixation on negative emotions,lessen impolsive,emotional reactions,improve relationship satisfaction and improve focus.

There are seven basic types of meditation and each type has many sub-types.Health experts,Spiritual leaders and Teachers all have simular but different techniques.

Meditation offers you many benifits and there is a style for everyone.many mix and match techniques to find the one that fits their personality and lifestyle.

Below we will list the basic types,they all can be mixed and modified to meet your needs.

 

#1 TRANSCENDENTAL.

People who practice Transcendental Meditation say they experience both spiritual and hightened mindfulness.

Transcendental meditation is a spiritual practice  that focus on the breathing and montras to allow the person to focus on

getting a desired effect  simular to the law of attraction.many guru/teachers will give the student a set of montras to work with

and will define the different breathing techniques needed for each type.

 

#2 ZEN MEDITATION.

Zen Meditation is simular to Mindfulness Meditation but is more disaplined and focused.

you may want to work with a teacher/guru for this one simply because it involves doing specific postures and montras.

Again, this form of meditation is similar to mindfulness meditation but requires more discipline and practice. People may prefer it if they are seeking both relaxation and a new spiritual path.

The goal is to find a comfortable position, focus on breathing, and mindfully observe one's thoughts without judgment.

 

#3 KUNDALINI YOGA.

Kundalini yoga mixes movements with deep breathing and montras to activate/heal the energy points of the mind,body and soul.

 People usually learn from a teacher or do a class. However, someone can learn the poses and mantras at home.

Kundalini yoga can improve physical strength and reduce pain. It may also improve mental health by reducing anxiety and depression.

#4 BREATH AWARENESS MEDITATION.

As a form of mindfulness meditation, breath awareness offers many of the same benefits as mindfulness. Those include reduced anxiety, improved concentration, and greater emotional flexibility.

Practitioners breathe slowly and deeply, counting their breaths or otherwise focusing on their breaths. 

The goal is to focus only on the breathing and ignore other thoughts that may come into your mind and focusing your energy.

 

#5 MINDFULNESS.

Rather than dwelling on the past or dreading the future, mindfulness encourages awareness of a person's existing surroundings. Crucial to this is a lack of judgment.

Mindfulness meditation is something people can do almost anywhere. While waiting in line at the grocery store, for example, a person might calmly notice their surroundings, including the sights, sounds, and smells they experience at that moment.

Mindfulness plays a part in almost all meditation types but focuses on being in the now/present.

noticing our thoughts but not judging them or following them,just let them float by .

 

#6 progressive.

During a progressive relaxation session, practitioners start at one end of their body, usually their feet, and work through the whole body.

Progressive relaxation, sometimes called body scan meditation, is meditation that encourages people to scan their bodies for areas of tension. The goal is to notice tension and to allow it to flow away.

 visualize a wave, drifting over your body to release tension.depending on the teacher/guru you may do tensing motions to pin point the area that needs work.

 

#7 METTA MEDITATION.

Sometimes called loving or Kindness meditation METTA's gaol is to bring forward an attitude of love and careing towards the world as a hole.

While breathing deeply, practitioners open their minds to receiving loving kindness. They then send messages of loving kindness to the world, to specific people, or to their loved ones.
